Intern / Working student (f/m/d) Development of a simulation model for the design of current source inverters (CSI)

Part-time (20 hrs / week)

YOUR TASKS

  • Selection of suitable sub-models for power semiconductors, intermediate circuits, load arrangements and other required components.
  • Construction of CSI and VSI (voltage source inverter) models with comparable supply sources and loads
  • Integration of simple control structures for the realisation of load profiles
  • Creation of a parameter space for different operating points taking into account the duality of VSI and CSI
  • Comparison of component load and evaluation of current and voltage ratios within the individual functional groups
  • Appropriate presentation and evaluation of the simulation results

YOUR QUALIFICATION

  • Degree (Diplom-Ing. or Master Sc.) in the field of power electronics
  • Solid basic understanding of electronic components and basic circuits
  • Reading, understanding and creating circuit diagrams (knowledge of common circuit symbols)
  • Knowledge of the function and control of common power semiconductors (IGBT, MOSFET, SiC-FET, GAN), especially the loss mechanisms
  • Experience with simulation tools in power electronics (MATLAB/Simulink, Simscape, Simplorer...)
  • Basic understanding of the control of inverters for electric drives, DC/DC controllers and comparable components
  • Ability to create thermal equivalent circuit diagrams
  • Structured work, sociability, good verbal and written expression and enjoyment of success
